Miss Gastonia and Miss Gaston County 2010 receive:

  • $1,000 scholarship given by the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association
  • $500 wardrobe/travel allowance given by the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association
  • flowers and plaque
  • official Miss America local preliminary crown and sash
  • official Miss America crown box given by Laura Page and Jessica Lackey

Gift certificates are available to Miss Gastonia, Miss Gaston County and

the Outstanding Teens from the following businesses and individuals:

The Outstanding Teen winners receive:

  • official Miss America’s Outstanding Teen local preliminary crown and sash
  • $250 paid by the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association toward state pageant entry fee
  • $150 wardrobe/travel allowance given by the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association
  • flowers and plaque
  • official crown box given by Logan Freeman and Sarah Ashley

The first runner-up receives a $200 savings bond, flowers, and plaque

The second runner-up receives a $150 savings bond, flowers, and plaque

The non-finalists receive a $100 savings bond

 

 

In-Kind Scholarships

This year, local colleges, universities, and trade schools are providing in-kind scholarships totaling $24,850 to the Miss Gastonia program.  Contestants must meet eligibility and admission requirements to receive in-kind scholarships.

 

Gardner-Webb University

a $2,500 renewable scholarship to the winner, $10,000 total

 

Cleveland Community College

a full-tuition scholarship valued at $2,800 to the winner and the first runner-up, $5,600 total

 

Belmont Abbey College

a $6,000 scholarship to the winner

 

Carolina Academy

a $2,500 scholarship

 

Gaston College

a $750 scholarship to the winner
