The Miss Gastonia Scholarship Association, Inc. is an official preliminary pageant program of the Miss North Carolina and Miss America organizations, serving a
ten-county region that includes Gaston, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Union, Rutherford, Catawba, Caldwell, Burke, and Polk counties.

Our program is committed to promoting the four principles of Miss America:     Service, Scholarship, Style, and Success.

The people who serve on our pageant committee are volunteers committed to providing scholarship opportunities and enriching the lives of young women in our community.  The cash and in-kind scholarships made available to this year's contestants totaled more than $43,000.

Delores Cox is the executive director and Todd Hagans is the business manager. Delores has served as executive director since 1983 and Todd has served as business manager since 1999.

We sponsor the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Gastonia’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in August at Gaston College.  The pageants are "stacked" pageants, which means two winners are crowned – Miss Gastonia and Miss Gaston County and Miss Gastonia’s Outstanding Teen and Miss Gaston County’s Outstanding Teen.

The four titleholders advance to the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant and the Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen Pageant held in Raleigh in June.

We also sponsor a series of holiday and festival pageants to raise money for the Miss Gastonia scholarship fund.
